The she-oaks are flowering and appear to develop a rusty haze at this time of the year. The cycle of watching the changing colour patterns is very comforting. We enjoyed the hickory wattles in June. They have finished and are now being followed by some of our other winter wattles.
The wedding bush is also flowering now, heralding the spring wildflowers in the wallum. Planning specific dates for wildflower walks has always been fraught with the uncertainty of an early or late flowering season. But this is restricted to just a couple of weeks as the heathland around Noosa rolls out its beauties. So walkers will be sure to enjoy either early or later displays.
Meanwhile, in your own garden, you can sit back and enjoy the seasonal changes and the wildlife that follows the flowers, knowing that the fruit will follow in its natural rhythm.
