Walk with Shaun Walsh to the highest point in the Marcus Beach High Dunes in the Lake Weyba section of the Noosa National Park. Learn how local environmental groups campaigned to save these elevated coastal heathlands from residential subdivision by TM Burke in the 1990s. Admire the stunning coastal and hinterland views as we pass through flowering coastal heathlands and wonder how lucky we are that this was protected.

This is a bush walk on sandy fire trails, rising from sea level to 45 metres elevation. Bring sturdy shoes, a hat, sun protection and a water bottle.

The walk is 2 to 3 hours and a good degree of mobility is required.

Parking available on Hawthorn Close near the entrance to Hawthorn Park.
