Noosa Biosphere Awards
The UWG subcommittee would like to congratulate our member Gene Young for being a finalist in the Environmental Steward Award (Under 30). This category, sponsored by UniSC, is for outstanding contribution to the Noosa Biosphere environment by an individual.
Demonstration Verge Garden Project
The first of the demonstration verge gardens was planted this month with a working bee of eight UWG subcommittee and member volunteers.
The Origins and Aims of the Urban Wildlife Gardens Program
UWG is based on a ‘Gardens for Wildlife’ scheme set up by Barung Landcare, which in turn was based on a program run by the Tasmanian Land Conservancy to encourage wildlife-friendly gardens across Tasmania.
