What’s in My Garden?

What’s in My Garden?

Frog Habitat Demonstration Workshop

UWG is hoping to schedule a follow up to our February workshop, ‘Creating Ponds for Frog Habitat’, with a practical demonstration by Sean Morrow of building a frog habitat. We are looking for a member who, perhaps already has plans to install a small pond in their urban wildlife garden and, would like some free expert advice from Sean plus willing helpers to construct the pond at the workshop.

Local Wildlife in our Sunrise Beach Garden

Local Wildlife in our Sunrise Beach Garden

I am still learning about native plantings and, like most gardens, ours is a work in progress. As humble as it is, it is home to a variety of creatures. The planting of natives has given us the pleasure of welcoming local wildlife, an immeasurable joy.

Wildlife on the Move

Wildlife on the Move

Spring and summer are breeding season for a lot of our local fauna and that means more movement including in our urban areas. Wildlife move into new areas for many reasons including to look for a mate, find new territory and search for nest building materials. My property has male echidnas out most nights making a ruckus as they move through the leaf litter.
